Jeffrey Archer

Jeffrey Archer is an English novelist and short story writer whose career spans politics, literature, and public life. Born in London and raised in Weston-super-Mare, he studied at Oxford and served as a Member of Parliament for Louth between 1969 and 1974. Financial setbacks led him to focus on writing, and his debut novel, Not a Penny More, Not a Penny Less (1976), introduced his intricate plotting and suspenseful style. Kane and Abel (1979) established his international reputation and became one of the most widely read novels of its time.

Over more than four decades, Archer has published novels, short stories, plays, and series such as The Clifton Chronicles and the William Warwick thrillers. Known for fast-paced narratives, unexpected twists, and explorations of ambition and power, his books have sold over 300 million copies worldwide, been translated into dozens of languages, and adapted for television and stage. Archer remains one of the most commercially successful authors of his generation.
