Amir Tag Elsir

Amir Tag Elsir is a Sudanese doctor and novelist, recognized for his works in Arabic that address contemporary social issues such as poverty, refugee life, and diseases like Ebola.

With over 20 publications spanning poetry, biography, and novels, some of his works have been translated into English and other languages. Born in northern Sudan, Tag Elsir studied medicine at Tanta University in Egypt and currently resides in Doha, Qatar. His acclaimed novel 366 won the Katara Arabic Novel Prize in 2015, and several of his works have been shortlisted for the International Prize for Arabic Fiction. His stories delve into the exploitation of refugees and the challenges faced by marginalized communities.
